In 1985, the National Basketball Association became notorious as it sent a letter to Nike, notifying the brand that the black and red shoe's worn by Michael Jordan were in violation of the league's uniform policy.
Later to be revealed as the Nike Air Ship, the black and red shoe worn by Jordan became a storytelling focal point for the brand.
Shortly, the Air Jordan 1 "Banned" story was born.
Since 1985 and the official launch of the Air Jordan 1, the "Banned" saga has delivered iconic moments thorough sneaker history, including the signature red "X" that was featured on the retro from 2016.
As Jordan Brand continues to tap into the history of the iconic Air Jordan line, the latest Air Jordan 1 High OG "Rebellionaire" adds to the "Banned" lineage. Utilizing the color scheme from the Air Jordan 1 "Shadow" OG and featuring the "They can't stop you from wearing them" call out, the latest AJ1 High OG brings legendary rebellious story to life for a new generation to appreciate and giving OGs the perfect sense of nostalgia.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG "Rebellionaire" will release at Manor Phoenix on Saturday, March 19th. For this exclusive release, Manor Phoenix in conjunction with a handful of local retailers, will have a series of retro-inspired basketball cards relaying the "Rebellionaire" story. Additionally, the QR codes found on the cards that can only be accessed on Saturday will take you to a reserve portal to enter for a chance to reserve, purchase, and pick-up your pair with a one-of-a-kind code to eliminate any and all potential bot orders.
Stick around throughout the day for in-store exclusives.
Stay tuned to Manor Phoenix on the temporary @Shop.Manor Instagram page for upcoming release details and more.
